0 | Does not perceive the behavior as harmful | Unrelated or incorrect reasoning | Perceives the victim’s behavior as wrong | Fails to recognize the victim’s emotions | Suggests an irrelevant coping strategy or fails to cope |
1 | Recognizes the behavior as harmful but does not clearly perceive it as a sexual crime or immorality | Reasoning is related to the situation but partially insufficient | Recognizes that the victim’s behavior is not wrong, but the reasoning is partially insufficient / Partially perceives the victim’s behavior as wrong | Partially recognizes the victim’s emotions | Suggests only one appropriate coping strategy or two strategies that are partially inappropriate |
2 | Accurately perceives the behavior as a sexual crime or immorality | Reasoning is related to the situation and accurate | Clearly recognizes that the victim’s behavior is not wrong | Accurately perceives the victim’s emotions | Suggests two or more appropriate coping strategies |
Scoring and interpretation guidelines
∙ Scoring and interpretation should consider the context of the response rather than the mere presence of specific words.
∙ The score should encompass responses to all four questions in a given scenario.
∙ If a respondent’s answers receive different scores (e.g., 1 point and 2 points), the higher score should be assigned, unless the response is inappropriate.
∙ For example, if a response in the crime perception category includes both a 1-point answer (“It feels bad”) and a 2-point answer (“This is sexual harassment”) without any inappropriate responses, the score for crime perception should be 2 points. |
